TEACHING STRATEGIES
- Allowing options in class presentation as students with anxiety may be more successful in another form of presenting their knowledge than a presentation in front of the class. (Poster, newspaper article, blog, Brain Shark presentation, etc.) - Have expectations for your class, assignments, tests, and projects known to student. Knowing what is expected of them will help ease anxieties. - Choose groups and seating plans accordingly. Placing students with or around less disruptive students will also help them stay at ease. - Have a safe place and/or person the students can go or reach out to when feeling overwhelmed. |
